Utility Warehouse Introduction

·        The Utility Warehouse Discount Club is operated by Telecom Plus PLC, a major British company whose shares are listed on the London Stock Exchange. The Utility Warehouse provides its members with great value, great savings and the best possible customer service. Perhaps it’s not surprising that in a recent survey, over 94% of Utility Warehouse customers said they would recommend them to a friend.

·        The Utility Warehouse provides over 350,000 customers throughout the UK with substantial savings on a wide range of utility services including home phone, mobiles, broadband, gas, electricity and non-geographic numbers.

The Utility Warehouse Discount Club is operated by Telecom Plus PLC, a major British company, listed on the London Stock Exchange. Telecom Plus was named ‘Company of the Year’ at the PLC Awards in 2009. The company has received glowing endorsements in the national press and consistent praise from the UK’s leading independent consumer magazine.

·        You may not have heard of the Utility Warehouse Discount Club before, as they don’t advertise. Instead, they rely on satisfied customers letting their friends and family know about the great value services they deliver.

They share the money they save with their members, which means you benefit from the best value in the UK!

·        You may not have heard of the Utility Warehouse before – that’s the secret to saving lots of money! The company does not advertise in the national press or on TV. Instead, it relies on personal recommendation; satisfied customers letting their friends, family and colleagues know about the savings they have made. The company passes the savings it makes on to its members – by charging less.

·        The Utility Warehouse is very different to other suppliers. They don’t have any high street shops and because (unlike their competitors) they don’t spend customers’ money on expensive advertising campaigns on TV or in the national press, they can afford to charge their customers less for the same services.

·        As a member of the Utility Warehouse Discount Club, you SAVE...

·         Single bill for all your utilities
·         Award-winning customer service
·         Value that's unbeatable
·         Easy to switch

Success stories

Rob Barras and Shannon Griffin held an accelerator workshop in Croydon recently. Here's just a small portion of the feedback we received...
Just had to say a huge thank you to Rob (Barras) and Shannon (Griffin) for the recent accelerator training in Croydon. It was fantastic and I loved every minute!
Su Finch

Great Accelerator!
  • Much improved for keeping short; 10 – 3pm. New Distributors more likely to be focused and take information in
  • Learned loads myself – improved ‘one liners’ connecting Martini boxes/info
  • Loved Alex and Juswant’s slot – sure Distributors should have got the message – fit this in around the ‘nooks and crannies’ of day
  • All slots are very valuable to new Distributors with an emphasis on keeping it simple.
Overall it was hosted well and brought over that this is a fun business, which can earn you serious money with consistent effort, activity and learning the skills.

Can I just say a huge big thank you to all those that laid on the recent accelerator day at Croydon. It was awesome and mind-blowing! Personally I came away learning loads and with a new commitment to my business. More of these please! They're inspiring, motivating and awesome!
Dave Hayes

What an amazing day. Learnt so much and my mind has been buzzing all evening!
Thank you for allowing us some time to share our tips.

Mini adventures

This week Martin and Yvonne Thomas provide an insight into what helped them qualify for their Mini, and build a successful Utility Warehouse business.
Can you provide a brief overview of your background, where you worked (or still work), how you became a Distributor and what your original motivation was when signing up?
How did we get here? Well, I was first offered the Utility Warehouse opportunity in the Summer of 2008, just before the credit crunch. I was working as a land agent, and as a property landlord, and we were flying! My wife Yvonne is a senior sister at Bournemouth Hospital and we have two children (one off to University in September 2011).
Fast forward six months and it was a totally different story! The credit crunch had hit hard. I was offered the opportunity a second time, went to a COP and signed up there and then. My thinking was 'What if it works - WOW; what an opportunity I'd have'.
What methods of customer and Distributor gathering have proven particularly successful for you?
We attend a lot of Win A Minis and talk to everyone!
What advice would you give somebody who's building their own Utility Warehouse business and wants to qualify for their own Mini?
My best advice if you want this business to work is simple. Go to training, go to training, go to training... and do exactly what they tell you to do - it works!
What mistakes have you made building your business that you'd like to prevent others making themselves?
Mistakes - I think a lot of us (including myself) have our own way of prospecting - email and letter-writing without following up, wouldn't be seen at a Win A Mini (oh yes I've heard that!) etc.
I've made many mistakes but the important thing is to believe in the company, believe in the training and do as the trainers say. If it's not broken, why fix it?
How has your life changed since you became a Distributor and how can you see it improving over the coming years?
Since becoming a Distributor I've started to build a business part-time. I've had a pay rise almost every month, had company share options and M&S vouchers. I'm on track for the holiday and now have got my Utility Warehouse Mini which will grow my business even more quickly!
In fact, as Wayne (Coupland) handed over the keys to our Mini he told us that some Distributors get phone calls (as a result of their Minis) before they even get home... well we had only got to the second set of lights after leaving Network HQ in our new Mini and a man pulled up alongside us at the lights and said 'How do I save 25 %?'.
My wife gave him a card! Just amazing!
I have one regret - why didn't I join the Utility Warehouse sooner?!

2. US-based Direct Selling News has published its list of the world's top 100 direct selling companies.

Last year, Telecom Plus was ranked 33rd. This year, we've shot up the rankings - to 17th.  That's 17th in the world.

What's the story?
These surveys show, yet again, that you are in the right place, at the right time with this business. Everyone agrees:
  • Telecom Plus PLC is a major business, climbing in the global rankings
  • survey after survey rates our customer service as the best in the UK.

There are many people who prefer a Pay as you Go mobile to a bundled tariff.
Of course, that may be because they haven't heard about our sensational bundled Value tariffs yet!
But for those customers who do want Pay as you Go - do they want the cheapest Pay as you Go available from any major network? Or do they want to pay more?

ValuePay - our Pay as you Go mobile tariff - is the UK's cheapest.

At just 7p per minute for calls, and just 4p to send a text, it's cheaper than Virgin mobile. It's cheaper than O2, Orange, 3, Vodafone and T-Mobile. It's cheaper than Tesco. It's even cheaper than Asda.

It's the cheapest.
But there's more!

As you'd expect from the Utility Warehouse, we like to add a bit more value to our cheapest tariffs, so ValuePay comes with unique benefits:
  • easy to top up; by phone, online through the Clubhouse, or using the new customer app (coming soon).
  • free itemised call listing
  • personalise your bill. Use 'name my service' in the My Account section of the Clubhouse to give each mobile on your account its own name on your bill - 'Dad's mobile', 'Sarah's iPhone' etc.
  • free credit! Choose to add your top-up to your next monthly bill. Top up now, pay later!
Who do you know that would like the UK's best Pay as you Go Mobile?

Long live the mobile revolution!
